All About Tequila

Tequila is a hard alcohol, often considered the national drink of Mexico. Unlike grain alcohols, Tequila is distilled from the Agave cactus, giving it an interesting effect different from other more common liquors.

The classic method of drinking tequila is as a shot, with a little salt and a slice of lime (lick the salt off the back of your hand, drink the shot, then suck on a lime). It is also the main ingredient in mixed drinks such as the Margarita, the tequila sunrise, and the veracruz cocktail.

How to Make An Excellent Margarita

Wet the rim of the glass with lime juice and coat with salt. Mix (or blend with ice) the tequila, the lime juice and the triple sec. If not blended, serve over cracked ice.
